General Information
Opening Hours
8.25am – 3.30pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Each class has a designated borrowing session each week. Teachers supervise student borrowing.
Students and parents may also borrow books and resources:

Borrowing Guidelines

Books may be renewed if not requested by other patrons.
Overdue slips are sent home each Monday for books that are two weeks overdue. An invoice will be sent to parents for any damaged or long overdue library books. Invoices are to be paid at the school office.
Students will be unable to borrow if they have overdue library books.
All students need a library bag if they wish to borrow books. Our policy is no bag no borrowing. This helps to protect books from damage.
ALL LIBRARY BOOKS BORROWED IN TERM 4 ARE DUE BACK BY THE END OF WEEK 8
Library Lunch times
The library is open at lunch times from 12.30 – 12.50 on the following days:
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for years 2 – 6.
During lunch times the students are supervised by teaching staff.
At lunch time children can play a variety of games, read books, draw, colour and create, complete puzzles, listen to audio stories, sit and talk to their friends or just relax.

Library Monitor Program
Library monitor program is available to all year 5 with 20 students chosen based on a written application.
The aims of the program are.
- To provide a leadership role.
- Encourage a sense of school community.
- Develop new skills.
- Develop an understanding of the function and value of the school library.
Parents and the library
Parents and guardians of a student attending West Greenwood Primary School are most welcome to visit the library to:
- borrow from the library’s large range of resources including our numeracy and literacy packs which were created to help students in these areas.
- bring your child to the library after school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to browse, borrow, read and relax.
- volunteer to help cover and shelves books on Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 9am-10.30am. Contact library on 92468700 if you would like to help.
How to join
To enrol as a parent borrower, just come to the library during opening times and our friendly library staff will create a library borrowing card which will be kept at the library. Once set up you are ready to borrow. Parents can borrow up to 4 items for a period of 4 weeks.
