What is The Fathering Project?
The Fathering Project aims to inspire and equip fathers and father-figures to positively engage with the children in their lives – for the benefit of kids.
One of the ways The Fathering Project supports the important role of fathers is through the formation of Dads Groups across Australia.
These groups organise regular activities that provide a safe and inclusive environment where fathers/father-figures/parents can engage with their kids, learn, share and connect with each other.

Does West Greenwood Primary School have a Fathering Project Dads Group?
Yes. The Dads At West Greenwood School (D.A.W.G.S.) is our very own West Greenwood Primary School dads group.
Established in 2019 at WGPS we are group of local dads who are keen to support our school community and run events throughout the year to give dads/parents and their children opportunities to spend time together and have some fun.
Some of our recent events include: a paper planes and pizza night, school campouts, a ten pin bowling night, and a mini golf night, as well as a few kid-free networking events. We are always looking for more ideas!
How can I get involved?
There are a couple of ways to get involved with the DAWGS.
- Add your name to the WGPS DAWGS contact list.
Go to The Fathering Project website at https://thefatheringproject.org/dads/join-a-group/ and search for West Greenwood Primary School and add your details. - Join the Leadership Group and help discuss, plan and deliver events.
Send an email to dawgs6024@gmail.com and let us know you are interested.
Is anyone able to get involved with the DAWGS?
Yes. The DAWGS at West Greenwood is an inclusive group. Everyone is welcome to add their name to our contact list and to register and attend DAWGS events including dads, mums, aunties, uncles, guardians, grandparents, family friends, etc. We want all our WGPS kids to have the opportunity to come to DAWGS events.
